The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Tamar Sanikidze launched at Georgian Technical University a double degree Georgian-German bachelor program in logistics. The Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany in Georgia Bettina Kadenbach, The Rector of Georgian Technical University Archul Prangishvili, The President of TH Wildau, professor Laszlo Ungvari, Head of DAAD Tbilisi office Martin Praxenthaler and other invitees attended the event.

In 2014, the 200th birth anniversary of Dimitri Kipiani was marked. Kipiani s personal archive fund is kept at at Korneli Kekelidze National Centre of Manuscripts, respectively, for celebration of Dimitri Kipiani s 200th birth anniversary and also for promotion of one the most important public figure s life and work, National Centre of Manuscripts with financial support of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, prepared educational-exhibitional project.

For the first time in Georgia and in Caucasus region, „International Week of Science and Innovations“has been opened. The date of the week is symbolic. It opens on November 10, International Day of Science and ends on November 17, International Students Day.

Final conference of the European Union co-funded project “Civic Education for Democratic Citizenship" was held. The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri, Head of EU Operations Sections of European Union Delegation in Georgia Kaido Sirel and Director of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation South Caucasus Dr. Janan Atilgan opened the event.

The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia regularly holds meetings with the principals and teachers of Georgian school. With this purpose, The Deputy Minister Lia Gigauri met with the public school principals and teachers of Racha-Lechkhumi region.

Improvement of the school infrastructure remains prirority for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and it continues in permanent regime. Full rehabilitiation has been completed of school in Gari village of Oni municipality. Today, the Deputy Minister Lia Gigauri visited the village and personally inspected the conducted rehabilitation works.

Tbilisi "komarov" Physics-Mathematical boarding school № 199 has become 50. The school celebrated its anniversay with a solemn ceremony in which the representatives of government, international and the private organizations and non-governmental sector participated. The Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Lia Gigauri and Tbilisi Mayor Davit Narmania opened the event.

Today, Lia Gigauri paid a visit to Tbilisi Public School №186 and got personally acquainted with performed rehabilitation works. Also, Deputy Minister expressed her interest in teaching process and generally in the school needs as well.

ETF (Enterprise Georgia and European Training Foundation) conducted research in the partner countries, where those groups of citizens were studied who do not work, do not study and are not involved in any kind of training ( "NEET"). According to international survey, percentage of such groups is alarmingly high in Georgia.
