Within the scope of her visit to Adjara, Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia visited the Khulo branch of the New Wave College, where she met with representatives of the local government, private sector and the college officials, as well as students of the branch.

The Khulo Branch of the New Wave College, opened in the fall of 2019, is characterized by high student engagement as well as multifaceted collaboration with the local private sector. Applicants can pursue vocational programs in electrical engineering, hotel business, forestry, veterinary and information technology. In addition to undergraduate programs, the branch is involved in the students' vocational skills development program and conducts orientation and certification courses. In order to meet the needs of the local population in the coming future, the branch will start developing and implementing short-term training programs, as well as a beekeeping diploma program.

At the end of the workshop with Tamar Kitiashvili, the representatives of the local self-government expressed their readiness to continue the role of mediator between the branch and the private sector and to promote the employment of students. In addition, the local government hopes that the branch will make a significant contribution to the development of the Goderdzi resort, as well as positively assessing the college's involvement in the ongoing gasification processes in Upper Adjara. For this purpose, a specialized building is being constructed which, after being equipped, will be transferred to the college for temporary use in order to prepare staff for the gasification vocation.
