Created for firefighters by the students of Tbilisi Public School No. 175, the "Smart Helmet" won the nomination for the Most Innovative Invention for the International Exhibition-Sale in Estonia.
The "smart helmet" helps firefighters to get out of the smoky, smudgy environment in conjunction with detecting the any unseen obstacles. It alerts the firefighters in advance and thereby reducing the fatalities and subsequent injuries.
Exhibition-sale of international student companies was held in Tallinn, Estonia on February 5-11, with participation of students from Finland, Sweden, England and Latvia.
It is noteworthy, that their visit abroad is due to an elective course - entrepreneurship, which is also attended by more than 6500 students of 251 public schools across Georgia. "Student companies" are being formed within the framework of the "Entrepreneurship Basics" school elective. Junior Achievement Georgia, supported by the US Agency for International Development (USAID), that supports entrepreneurship education in Europe and Eurasia. In addition to providing students with educational materials, the organization also cares for teacher training and qualification enhancement.
It is within the framework of entrepreneurship, that Junior Achievement organizes competitions every year. They include the annual international competition of Estonian student companies in which European member states participate. JA Estonia and JA Georgia, with the financial support of the Estonian Development Agency, support the participation of students in international competitions. The current project aims at "Promoting Entrepreneurial Education in Georgia, Sharing European Methodology for Entrepreneurship Education and Promoting Georgia's further Integration with Europe".
Student Company – Helment Vision of Public School №175, created a' smart helmet ' for firefighters, while The smell of thread – student company of Publisc School №16, designed handmade items featuring animal imagery and environmentally friendly natural products with various flavorings.
Junior Achievement Georgia is currently organizing a competition, "The Best Students' Company of Georgia", which will take place on March 29, 2020, with the winning team leaving for the European Championship in Portugal.
