Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, together with Georgian First Channel are launching an educational project – Teleskola, that envisages live transmission of lessons for school students through the Second Channel and various online platforms of Public Broadcaster starting March 30. The project envisages the execution of TV lessons provided by the national curriculum for school students.

Mikheil Chkhenkeli: “I would like to inform you that starting from March 30, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, together with Georgian First Channel are launching a very important project titled - Teleskola. Within the project framework, all students will have the opportunity to become actively involved in the program and attend fascinating lessons in all subjects - regardless of whether they have access to the Internet.

Moreover, lessons will be delivered by our experienced teachers. I would also like to point out that within the scope of this wonderful venture, a particular emphasis will be put on the Entrant Hour, where experienced specialists will advise and prepare our entrants on national exams.

Furthermore, it is also of the utmost importance, that there is a separate airtime for the representatives of our ethnic minorities to study and master the Georgian language. Granted, they will also have classes in their native language through teleconferencing. Other important aspects will be gradually added in the coming future.

Additionally, a very significant factor of the project, is the offer of educational and cognitive programs prepared by Georgian as well as famous foreign TV companies, which will be fully dubbed in Georgian. In time, numerous university professors will be involved in the project, displaying the charm of their respective disciplines to the students, in a very comprehensive language. This in turn, will become one of the most crucial component of Teleskola. I would like to wish everybody best of luck in this great path, which is called receiving education.”

Teleskola will be one of the modes of distance learning, that enables all students, regardless of whether they have access to the Internet, to find interesting and cognitive lessons across all subjects.

Airtime (TV Lesson Timetable) covers all subjects. Classes provided by the National Curriculum will be taught by experienced teachers from both the public and private sectors and will offer students a tailored module.

As you may know, the Prime Minister-led Interagency Coordination Council has decided to temporarily suspend all learning activities for the prevention of coronavirus. The Council instructed the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia to maximize access to distance learning in order to facilitate the teaching-learning process. The joint project of the Ministry and the First Channel of Georgia Teleskola serves to accomplish this precise task.
