Following the conclusion of the next Interagency Coordination Council headed by the Prime Minister, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli made a remark, emphasizing various interesting means of distance education, that the Ministry has to offer in light of the current situation. Amongst them, the Minister focused on the new Georgian communication platform for distance learning – Feedc Edu, offered to Georgian public schools, as an alternative communication tool.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli: “As you may know, due to the raising challenges associated with Coronavirus, classes and auditoriums have been temporarily suspended. However, this obstacle should not hinder the learning process in any way. As a result, schools and universities are switching to distance/remote learning. Yesterday, a very powerful and engaging project – Teleskola was launched, implemented by our Ministry, in collaboration with the First Channel of Georgia. Within the scope of this project, all students now have access to education, whether they have access to the internet.
One more novelty was added to these initiatives, and owing to the decision of the Coordination Council, today the Ministry offers a Georgian distance learning communication platform – Feedc Edu to our schools. I would like to express our immense gratitude to the company “Fids”, for their outstanding display of social responsibility.”
Feedc platform is completely free of charge, and works perfectly on any smartphone, and does not require high-speed broadband connection. The platform enables sharing of documents, upload/download features and the ability to conduct group lessons. It is extremely user friendly for students, teachers and parents alike. Additionally, users can register on the platform with a mobile phone number.
Furthermore, Mikheil Chkhenkeli once again focused on Teleskola, a project launched by the Ministry and the First Channel of Georgia and noted that the education provided by this project will be engaging and very effective.
“The education provided by Teleskola, will surely be effective as we have our best, experienced teachers involved in the lessons. The project already commenced with great success yesterday and I'm sure it will continue this way. There are some incredibly appealing lessons delivered with a creative approach, and this platform achieves pretty interesting academic results. Within this project, the Entrant Hour is also held, where leading specialists will advise the entrants on national exams. Lessons are held Monday through Friday, whereas during the weekends, Teleskola offers a whole range cognitive and educational shows, produced both in Georgia and abroad. This will be very interesting not only for the students, but for their parents and for the whole community as well.”
