Within the scope of the ‘New School Model’ project, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia is strengthening the creation of auxiliary Georgian-language based electronic resources and their development.
Since 2019, a dedicated team of the National Curriculum Division of the Ministry, together with the invited experts, young programmers and program designers have been actively working in this regard and currently they have accomplished creating a Georgian-language based auxiliary electronic resources for students of I-VI grades intended for fine and applied arts and natural sciences. Subsequently, all teachers and students can now use these resources in test-mode in the distance learning process: https://school.emis.ge.
The team implementing the New School Model continues to actively work to create Georgian-language electronic resources for music and computer science.
It should be noted that artificial intelligence in the form of chatbots are used throughout in the process of creating these much-needed resources. A chatbot is a computer program that, through the processing of language, enters into a dialogue with a student and provides answers to their enquiries.
Furthermore, the project has created a total of five chatbots for educational e-resources, as well as for the "New School Model", and are built-in on the official Facebook page of the project - New School Model. Chatbot, a digital employee of the New School Model, took a step back from the current events and "learned" all the frequently asked questions that arose during the distance learning process. The chatbot helps the school community to implement and get used to the remote learning practices. Since its launch, the Chatbot has responded to questions from 1,177 users.
Auxiliary Georgian-language electronic resources, created with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia help students to complete complex tasks independently. They offer a variety of visual aids, path-giving, thought-provoking questions, and practical work that will help the student understand the theoretical aspects of the subject and help them develop innovative products.
