"As you all know, the situation created by the COVID-19 crisis has posed a number of challenges to the education system. The entire world is observing with great interest all the processes that were carried out to overcome the challenges facing education. Education is one of the best examples of how to turn the toughest challenge into an opportunity for further development. Despite facing many difficulties, our country has been named one of the best in the world in terms of the quality and scale of the transition from traditional to distance learning. Caring for the quality of higher education starts from the examination system” - stated Nunu Mitskevichi, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, at a press conference.
According to Nunu Mutskevichi, maximum protection of health of participants is the primary task for the Ministry, thus allocating additional costs and resources to implement all the health recommendations and guidelines provided by the healthcare exerts. Additionally, the Ministry has been working actively since the first day of the announcement of the Coronavirus pandemic in order to conduct the examination process as perfectly as possible.
The Deputy Minister focused on clarifying the safety rules that protect the health of each pant registered for the exams, as well as the supervisors, faculty members and technical staff.
Moreover, Nunu Mitskevichi stated, that the man format of the 2020 exams will be maintained. More than 55,000 entrants were registered for this year’s exams.
In closing, Nunu Mitskevichi thanked the National Center for Assessment and Examinations for their immense work and noted that the efforts of the Ministry of Education and relevant agencies would be a guarantee of academic good faith and safe conduct of examinations.
