After a break of several months, the Georgian national and age basketball teams resumed their training. The Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Shalva Gogoladze attended the training process, together with the President of the Basketball Federation, Paata Guraspaul and various sports media representatives.
The National Basketball Federation has developed a special program for training athletes. The program takes into account all the requirements and regulations imposed by the Government of Georgia due to the pandemic caused by the new coronavirus (COVID-19). The so-called “Sports Protocol” provides different rules for both outdoor and indoor training.
The Basketball Federation will also assist basketball schools and teams in resuming training. To this end, the federation will host managers and coaches daily at the “Arena” sports complex.
The National Basketball Federation is one of the first sports organizations to provide an opportunity for athletes to resume training after the lockdown.
