Nunu Mitskevichi, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia held an online meeting with the coordinating group of the National Examinations and summed up the first day. Deputy Minister thanked each resource center and the personnel involved in organizing the examination process and expressed hope that future exams will be successful with the maximum mobilization of all stakeholders.
The Deputy Minister noted that such meetings with the coordinating group will be held continuously during the exams to map out and overcome all challenges in a timely manner.
Unified National Examinations 2020 started today, on July 6, at 09:00. Examination centers are open in Batumi, Poti, Zugdidi, Ozurgeti, Kutaisi, Akhaltsikhe, Gori, Tbilisi, Rustavi, Telavi and Khulo. More than 93% of the entrants showed up for the exam.
On the first day of the national exams, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli and the Deputy Minister Nunu Mitskevichi visited the examination centers in Tbilisi and wished success to the entrants.
The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, together with the National Center for Assessment and Examinations and other agencies, has been actively working to make the 2020 examination process as complete as possible from the very first day of the coronavirus crisis. The organizing group includes: National Center for Disease Control and Public Health (NCDC), Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, Tbilisi City Hall, Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia, Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs, Ministry of Justice of Georgia (Special Penitentiary Resocialization-Rehabilitation Department of Service Convicts); JSC "Telasi" and JSC "Energo-Pro Georgia".
