The foundation day of National Manuscript Center was celebrated on June 30. Events were held in the scope of this day at the center. Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini and many honorable guests participated in the event.

Presentation of the Friend Society of National Manuscript Center was held in the framework of anniversary events. The honorable Chairman of this society is his Holiness and Beatitude, Patriarch of Georgia, Ilia II. Deputy Chairman of Parliament, Rusudan Kervalishvili will manage Friend Society Board.

The governing body of the Society - Board will be composed with public officials and the representatives of business sector as well as cultural workers. They are selected according to their approach towards the National Manuscript Center during the years. Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini is selected as the member of Friend Society of the center.

Friend Society is designed for popularization of the unique institute. It supports the research center and the collection center of National sense.

New exposition “Royal Donation” (Newspaper “Droeba” named the fact of donating 169 manuscripts by the Head of the Society of Spreading Literacy among Georgians, Niko Dadiani after “Royal Donation”) was opened on June 30. It presents the whole history of manuscript donation. Manuscripts that were donated in recent years were exhibited as well. The center presented the manuscripts that are not acquired yet.

The official donation ceremony of the antiquity that was donated during one year (manuscripts, historical documents, archives. . .) was held on the foundation day.
