Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini and First Deputy of Chief Prosecutor of Georgia, Davit Sakvarelidze visited schoolchildren’s exhibition in Mtatsminda Park and presented the winners of the competition “Youth Without Loss".
MES and Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia announced 2010 year as the year of Juvenile Crime Prevention and Safe School. In the framework of this campaign, several discussions and sport competitions were held during the whole year with the participation of schoolchildren. Competition for the slogan of the campaign was held as well. The topic of the competition “Youth Without Loss” was announced according to the best slogan.
The competition was held in several rounds in all regions of Georgia. VIII-XII graders participated in the competition. Participants chose the following topics of the paintings: crime and violence among the juvenile.
50 best paintings were identified in the regional round. Authors, who took the first, second and the third places were presented with netbooks. All participants were awarded with diplomas.
The schoolchildren of orphanages participated in the event. Attractions functioned for these children free of charge. The event was concluded by the concert.
UNICEF provided the financial support for the joint campaign of MES and Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia.
