"If necessary, senior students at medical universities will
be involved in the management of the virus" - said the Minister of Education,
Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli after the meeting of
the Interagency Coordination Council.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli: "Today,
during the Interagency Council, it was decided that the senior medical students
will be trained, to create a reserve of medical staff and if necessary, they
will also be involved in the medical management of COVID-19, to help our
doctors. T
Today, I have a meeting arranged with the rectors of all medical
universities in Georgia, as well as with the heads of medical faculties, and we
will start the process very shortly.
The training
course will be multi-faceted and depending on the epidemiological situation in the
country, our doctors will have a strong force to assist them in any way.”
