Minister of Education and Science, Dimitri Shashkini awarded the winning team of Georgia at the International Mathematical Olympiad with prizes and diplomas.
Team of Georgia that was composed with 6 schoolchildren received two silver and two bronze medals and two Diplomas of Honor at 51st International Mathematical Olympiad IMO 2010. It was held in Kazakhstan, Astana on July 2-14.
The winners of an International Mathematical Olympiad are:
Lakirbaia Lasha (Silver Medal) – 12th grader of Tbilisi Komarov Public School №199;
Peradze Lasha (Silver Medal) – 12th grader of Tbilisi Komarov Public School №199;
Tabidze Tsotne (Bronze Medal) – 11th grader of Kutaisi A. Razmadze Public School №41;
Gumberidze Giga (Bronze Medal) – 11th grader of Tbilisi Komarov Public School №199;
Giglemiani George (Diploma of Honor) – 11th grader of Tbilisi Public School №42;
Ambroladze Nodar (Diploma of Honor) – 11th grader of Kutaisi A. Razmadze Public School №41;
97 countries participated in an International Mathematical Olympiad this year.
Team of Georgia outran Spain, India, Brazil, Austria, Netherlands, Dania and etc. with scores. Winners were awarded with prizes. All holders of Silver Medals received 3,000 GEL and all holders of Bronze Medals – 2,000 GEL.
Georgian National Science Foundation of MES selected, prepared and administered participation of the team of Georgia in International Education Olympiads. Georgia presented delegations in 2010 International School Olympiads in three disciplines: physics, mathematics and informatics.
