The Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, together with the representatives of the local authorities, got acquainted with the educational process in the public schools of the villages of Shuagori and Inashauri, Vani Municipality.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli presented sports equipment to the students and thanked the teachers for their hard work during the pandemic, for maintaining the continuity and quality of education.
The Minister personally congratulated the director of Inashauri Public School - Zirak Janelidze on his 80th birthday, and thanked him for his long, fruitful work and wished him health and future success. Zirak Janelidze is a teacher of German and Russian languages.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli noted that the safety of students and ensuring their access to quality education is one of the main priorities of the Ministry.
According to the Minister, all schools have already been equipped with the necessary resources and inventory for the prevention of the virus, the bathrooms in schools are established and maintained, the sanitary-hygienic norms and the recommendations of the Ministry are strictly observed. The process of mandatory systematic testing of teachers at schools of Vani Municipality is carried out once in 2 weeks.
For the 2020-2021 academic year, 19 schools in Vani Municipality have been fully and partially renovated, bathrooms have been repaired, the roof has been replaced and central heating has been installed. In 2021 it is planned to fully and/or partially renovate 18 schools in the same municipality.
