To prevent the spread of Covid-19, owing to the decision of the Coordinating Council, from the beginning of February, mandatory testing of teachers and school administration representatives in public and private schools throughout Georgia is underway. After 2 weeks of intensive testing, 0.5% of Covid-19 teachers and school staff across the country were confirmed.
Based on the recommendations developed by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Georgia, in case the virus is confirmed, in agreement with the infected teacher, the infected student’s subject is transferred to a remote format.
In addition, throughout the territory of Georgia, the Ministry provides an opportunity for teachers at risk, based on the relevant medical report, to apply to the school administration to continue working in a remote format.
Based on a protocol developed with the Ministry of Health, mandatory testing of teachers and school administrative staff is actively underway across the country. The process is fully ensured and funded by the state.
For mandatory testing, the school administration registered all employees at the school on the following portal: https://labour.moh.gov.ge, and the process of testing staff by medical laboratories is carried out with the involvement of the Department of Labor Inspection.
