The component of practical training in vocational colleges operating throughout Georgia has already resumed. In parallel with the renewal of the learning process in auditoriums, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport launched a support-oriented monitoring process. For this purpose, Deputy Minister Tamar Kitiashvili visited Icarus Vocational College today and got acquainted with the safety norms in person.

On March 1, Icarus College witnessed the first phase of its students returning to designated classrooms. The resumption of studies on school premises also involves conducting practical components and workshop activities.

In order to prevent the spread of the virus, the college adheres to all safety recommendations, which includes not only mandatory facemasks, but also strictly maintain the social distance and heavy use of thermal screening systems and antibacterial matts.

According to the Deputy Minister, since this particular vocational education institution carried out a full learning semester in the fall, Icarus College gained a solid experience in operating in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health. Consequently, the college is well prepared for the challenges ahead. According to the deputy Minister, the support monitoring process will be continued and the representatives of the Ministry will visit all educational institutions.

Icarus College is focused on the development of the tourism industry in Georgia and implements modular programs such as culinary arts, confectionery, hotel and restaurant services. Also, in partnership with the private sector, the college implements various programs such as - cooking technology and confectionery mini-products. The practical component of these programs is implemented on the school premises.
