The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Mikheil Chkhenkeli hosted the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Greece to Georgia, Dimitrios Karabalis and discussed plans to enhance the existing cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting, the parties shared their experience in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic – to ensure the continuous process of education. The Minister emphasized the return of Georgian education to classrooms, and focused that it is of paramount importance to maintain the current health dynamics.
The sides positively assessed the cooperation between Georgia and Greece in the field of higher education and discussed the possibilities of introducing joint academic programs.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli noted that in order to integrate into the European scientific space, Georgia is actively preparing for the new EU program "Horizon Europe". According to the Minister, it is possible to present and implement joint scientific projects with the Greek scientific circles.
