The Ministry of Education and Science, with the support of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, in cooperation with the private sector, builds a carpentry and woodworking training workshop in the village of Potskho-Etseri, Tsalenjikha Municipality. The workshop college - Lakada will be a practical training base, where mainly the wood material brought by the river Enguri will be processed and used purposefully. The cost of the project is estimated at GEL 700,000.
The Deputy Minister of Education and Science, Tamar Kitiashvili, together with the Deputy Governor of Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Nino Vibliani, representatives of the local self-government of Tsalenjikha Municipality and the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, visited the construction process and made plans for its further development.
The village of Potskho Etseri is located on the border with the de facto border, near the Enguri HPP, and is mostly populated by IDPs from Abkhazia, whose education and employment promotion are a state priority. The operation of a workshop in Potskho Etseri will help the locals to master one of the most demanding vocations in the region and get employed.
