The increased number of infected people in the country was also reflected on the epidemiological situation in schools, however, due to the maximum hygienic norms, the situation at general education institutions is under full control.
This week, the infection rate in schools has increased. In particular, from 10 to 16 April, as a result of monitoring and mandatory testing, 0.3% of teachers and school administrators across the country and 0.1% of students were diagnosed with the virus nationwide.
At the request of the parents, also due to the confirmation of the virus, there are 73 schools and 187 separate classes across the country at full distance learning at this stage.
Additionally, across the country, there has been an increase in the number of teachers, who fall under the at-risk group category and have applied for distance learning themselves. At this stage, 133 teachers across the country work remotely.
In case there are further increase in the spread of the virus, point restrictions will apply. Schools will act in accordance with the protocol established by the Ministry of Health.
Based on the current statistics, it is clear that the public is even more required to comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Health. That is why the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia again calls on the society to support children and strictly follow the established norms so that students can finish the academic semester in their natural learning environment.
