A meeting was held within the framework of the joint project of the UN Development Program and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation - "Modernization of Vocational Education Training and Extension Systems in Agriculture in Georgia". At the meeting, which focused on the short-term training programs in agriculture, stakeholders, industry experts, public and private sector representatives discussed prospects for further skill development in the field and discussed industry prospects.
Tamar Kitiashvili, Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, participated in the meeting and noted that agriculture is one of the priority fields in vocational education and the demand for it is growing day by day. This process is facilitated by programs created within the framework of the UN project, which are focused on the development of new skills in agriculture. According to her, in order for the offered courses to meet the requirements of the field, more cooperation with the industry players is needed.
The meeting reiterated the importance of the UN project, which connects vocational schools, employers and relevant associations. As a result, a network of permanent cooperation has been established through Agroduo, which will further develop one of the most priority areas for the country - agriculture.
