In 2020, Georgia joined the Night of European Researchers for the first time with the project "Science is Captain". To commemorate this event, owing to the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Georgian Post issued a postage stamp, which is a visible attribute of the recent history of the country.
The new postage stamp has been issued with a circulation of 10,000 and it is available in Georgian post service centres throughout the country. Giorgi Mamulaishvili worked on the design of the stamp.
In order to promote science, a number of educational, cognitive and fun activities were held in 6 cities of Georgia within the framework of the winning project "Science Captain" of the EU research and innovation framework program "Horizon 2020". For the first time in history, Georgia appeared on the map of current events in synchronous mode with EU member states and Horizon 2020 Associate countries.
