Prior to the start of the school year, teachers and academic staff are actively involved in the mass vaccination process. From today, additional immunization cabinets have been launched in all immunization centres throughout Georgia, where public and private school teachers, vocational teachers, professors, scientists, administrative staff and employees of LEPLs subordinated to the Ministry will be able to get the desired vaccine without prior registration. Applicants will have to choose between Pfizer, SinoPharm and Sinovac vaccines.
Ekaterine Dgebuadze, First Deputy Minister of Education and Science and Tamar Gabunia, Deputy Minister of Health attended the process of teacher immunization at the State Medical University today.
Ekaterine Dgebuadze: “I would like to thank the Ministry of Health, with the support of which special cabinets were set up in all immunization centres for teachers and any employee of the education system. They have the opportunity to get the desired vaccine without registration. This is a very important process to prepare for the new school year."
Tamar Gabunia: “Vaccination of the staff of the educational system is carried out in specially designated areas. The Ministry of Education and Science will contact the educational institutions and will work with them so that we have information about the number of people to be vaccinated.”
The process of immunization of representatives of the education sector is actively underway across the country. More than 20% of teachers are currently vaccinated. The state also allowed vaccination of persons over 16 years of age, only with parental permission.
