Authorization Becomes Obligatory
First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Koka Seperteladze and the Head of National Center for Education Quality Assurance, David Kereselidze held a briefing. New law on Education Quality Assurance will enter into force from September 1st, 2010. Amendments will also be made in the law on higher, professional and general education.
Authorization becomes obligatory in order to gain the status of education institution regardless the working license.
Institution is not able to use the status of education institution and issue the bachelor, MA and Doctor’s academic degrees, professional qualification or diplomas of relevant qualification without authorization.
Students who were enrolled in the licensed institution before this law came into force will receive the qualification envisaged in the agreement only if the institution will provide the list of these students with the personal numbers and the orders of enrolment in 10 days.
MES suggests the people, who were not enrolled in the education institution, recognized by the state to continue studying at professional education institutions at the programs that are recognized by the state.
According to the amendments in the law on professional education, professional education became the full alternative of academic education that is much more appropriate in the employment market.
The graduates of the professional education program will receive the professional qualification recognized by the state and will be awarded with the profession diploma. Following specialties are included in the list of professional qualification: accountant, IT specialist, manager of the construction works, hotel service specialist, designer of landscape, farmer and wine-maker.
Enrolling at the academic programs and receiving the qualification recognized by the state is available according to the 2011 Unified Entry Exams. In order to apply at the professional education programs, willing people are able to address professional education institutions as well as National Center for Education Accreditation right today.
