The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, opened the awarding ceremony for the best Italian language teacher of 2022.
Mikheil Chkhenkeli addressed the audience, congratulated the finalists on their success and thanked them for their contribution to the strengthening of Italian language teaching in Georgia.
It should be noted that Nana Zardiashvili, a teacher of the 31st public school of Tbilisi, won the title of the best Italian language teacher of 2022. The second place went to the teacher of the 126th public school of Tbilisi, Lali Akhvlediani, and the third place went to the teacher of the 112th public school of Tbilisi and "Lampri" LLC Mariam Gvasalia.
Within the framework of the competition, Rusudan Koinashvili, was awarded with the honoured teacher award and the special prize established by the Italian Embassy and "Minerva" organization was given to Mariam Macharashvili, the Italian language teacher of the 177th and 71st public schools of Tbilisi.

Within the framework of the ceremony, special prizes were given to the winning teachers by Mikheil Chkhenkeli, together with the representatives of the partner organizations of the competition.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Italy to Georgia Enrico Valvo also took part in the event.
Giovanni Giacomantonio, the vice-president of the Italian language teaching coordinator organization "Minerva", Berika Shukakidze, the head of the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers, and other invited guests also attended the ceremony.
The competition for the best Italian language teacher of 2022 was held at the initiative of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers. The partners of the competition are the Embassy of Italy in Georgia and the coordinating organization of Italian language teaching "Minerva".
The best teacher competition, initiated by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, is held annually by the National Center for Professional Development of Teachers, and its main goal is to popularize the teaching profession, promote the growth of prestige and reveal successful pedagogical practices.
