The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Mikheil Chkhenkeli, paid a working visit to the Swiss Confederation. The minister personally got acquainted with the progress of the Kartvelian studies program at the University of Bern and attended the lecture of Professor - Manuela Studer-Karlen on the following topic - "Georgian art and architecture of the Middle Ages".
Furthermore, the minister addressed the audience and once again emphasized the importance of conducting a program on the rich history, diverse, outstanding culture and art of Georgia at the University of Bern. According to Mikheil Chkhenkeli, it is especially noteworthy that Georgian, Swiss, German, and American professors give lectures within the framework of the Kartvelian Studies program. The minister express his immense gratitude towards the Embassy of Georgia in the Swiss Confederation and the universities of Bern and Fribourg for the implementation of such project.
The Georgian Studies program at the University of Bern is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, the Embassy of Georgia in Switzerland, and the Humanities Faculties of the University of Bern and Fribourg. Within the mentioned program, Georgian and foreign professors give lectures on Georgian history, culture, art, Georgian language, and writing.
