The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, held a working meeting with the delegation of the Max Weber Foundation, headed by the Foundation’s Managing Director - Harald Rosenbach. The parties discussed the prospects of future cooperation between the Max Weber Foundation and scientific research institutes of Georgia. The parties also discussed the possibility of establishing the Max Weber Foundation office in Georgia.

During the meeting, Minister Amilakhvari stated that Georgia and Germany are tightly linked by a fruitful partnership in the field of education. As he noted, the cooperation with the Max Weber Foundation will further enhance the scientific ties between the two countries and will give an opportunity to Georgian scientists, together with their European colleagues, to implement joint scientific and research projects. 

According to Giorgi Amilakhvari, active work is being carried out throughout the region in anticipation of fully establishing Georgia as a centre of attraction for education, and the partnership with the Max Weber Foundation will make a significant contribution to this end. 

The Max Weber Foundation is one of the largest scientific research organizations in the Federal Republic of Germany, which supports research in the humanities and social sciences both in Germany and abroad. It should be noted that the fund unites eleven autonomous institutions in different countries of the world.
