The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, hosted the director of the mission of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) in Georgia - John Pennell.
During the meeting, the parties discussed current projects and future plans in the field of education and science.
Giorgi Amilakhvari drew attention to the significant contribution of the United States government to the development of the education system of Georgia and thanked John Pennell for his fruitful cooperation.
The minister singled out the memorandum signed last year between the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia and the International Development Agency of the United States of America, which involves the implementation of joint projects at all levels of education. A total of 55,699,880 American dollars has been allocated by USAID for the implementation of the mentioned projects.
Giorgi Amilakhvari introduced his vision for development of general, vocational and higher education. On his part, the director of the USAID mission of Georgia promised the minister full support in the implementation of the planned projects.
The parties agreed on close and active cooperation in the direction of existing and new educational projects.
