Giorgi Amilakhvari, the candidate for the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, addressed the joint session of the Committees on Education, Science, and Youth Affairs, as well as Culture, Sports, Health Protection, and Social Affairs today.
Giorgi Amilakhvari discussed the ongoing reforms in general, vocational, and higher education, as well as developments in science and youth policy. He also outlined future plans in these areas to the public.
The ministerial candidate emphasized the significance of ensuring access to education across the country, highlighting that education stands as the primary focus of the government today.
Furthermore, Giorgi Amilakhvari stated: "One of the key priorities of the Georgian government is to ensure universal access to education and enhance its quality. A clear demonstration of this commitment is the consistently increasing budget allocated to the education, science, and youth system, which reached an unprecedented level of -2,508.0 million GEL in 2024."
