The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, continues his visit to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
As part of his visit, Minister Amilakhvari, accompanied by members of his delegation, held a formal meeting with Elchin Babayev, Rector of Baku State University, along with the university's academic council, faculty, and students.
During the meeting, Minister Amilakhvari addressed the attendees, highlighting the longstanding friendship between Georgia and Azerbaijan. He emphasized the importance of bolstering cooperation between the universities of the two nations, noting that strengthening ties between higher education institutions is crucial for enhancing the partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan.
The discussions focused on strategies to enhance collaboration between Georgian higher educational institutions and the esteemed and historic Baku State University of Azerbaijan. The topics of discussion included the implementation of collaborative and dual degree programs, research initiatives, and the facilitation of student and faculty exchange projects.
Furthermore, Elchin Babayev expressed gratitude to Minister Amilakhvari for his commitment to partnership and conveyed his hope for active cooperation with Georgian universities in the future.
The meeting was also attended by Aleksandre Tsuladze, First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth; Deputy Minister, Nodar Papukashvili; Jaba Samushia, Rector of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University; Davit Gurgenidze, Rector of the Technical University of Georgia; and Aleksandre Tevzadze, Rector of Kutaisi International University.
