The Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, opened the 2024 international conference of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement.
In his address to the audience, the minister emphasized achievements and outlined future steps to be taken for enhancing quality across all levels of education.
The annual international conference of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement serves as a platform for discussing crucial issues pertaining to higher, professional, general, and early and preschool education. Participants engage in dialogues surrounding achievements and challenges related to quality assurance.
The conference's agenda spans multiple days, with each day focusing on different aspects of education quality. The first day centres on current issues in higher education, followed by discussions on the quality of general education on the second day. The last day of the conference is dedicated to exploring strategies for enhancing quality in professional, early, and preschool education.
Key topics addressed during the conference include initiatives implemented in 2023, planned activities for 2024 by the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement, analysis of results from the first and second cycles of cluster accreditation of educational programs, development of sectoral characteristics, recognition of foreign education, and validation of local qualifications.
The First Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Aleksandre Tsuladze, as well as Deputy Ministers Nodar Papukashvili, Tamar Makharashvili, and Gela Geladze also participated in the conference. Attendees included representatives from schools, professional and higher educational institutions, early and preschool education institutions, local and international partner organizations, members of the center's coordination council, accreditation, authorization, and appeal councils, students, employers, and other stakeholders.
