The delegation of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, led by Deputy Minister Tariel Gugava, participated in the Ministerial of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) known as "Tirana - 2024". 

During the conference held as part of the ministerial, Tariel Gugava addressed the audience and outlined Georgia's efforts in advancing higher education. The deputy minister emphasized that Georgia fully supports the vision of the European higher education space and the Bologna Process, aiming to establish an inclusive and innovative higher education system.

According to Tariel Gugava, one of the Ministry's primary objectives is to ensure equal access to higher education in Georgia and to implement student-centred teaching methods in higher educational institutions. 

As part of the ministerial meeting, participants discussed enhancing the higher education system, emphasizing common goals in this direction and the importance of international cooperation.

The Georgian delegation conducted meetings with representatives from various European delegations to discuss bilateral cooperation issues. 

The "Tirana - 2024" ministerial is hosted by Tirana, the capital of Albania, on May 29-30. Delegations from 49 countries participating in the Bologna Process and representatives of various international organizations, including those from the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, the National Center for the Development of Education Quality, and the Association of Georgian Student Organizations, are participating in the event. 

Georgia joined the Bologna Process at the Bergen summit in 2005, committing to establish a unified European higher education area. Since then, significant and fundamental changes have been implemented in the Georgian higher education system.
