Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, Giorgi Amilakhvari, hosted the recipients of the 2024-2025 academic scholarships at the International Center for Education. In his welcoming speech, the Minister congratulated the students on their achievements and wished them continued success.
Notably, during the event, the Minister announced the winner of the State Grant Programs for 2024-2025, Nikoloz Evgenidze, who was recognized as the best student. Mr. Evgenidze will pursue his Master’s degree in Engineering and Operations Research at Columbia University and will receive a monthly scholarship of 300 euros for one academic year.
The event featured remarks from Nunu Mitskevichi, the International Center for Education's representative, as well as ambassadors from France, Italy, and China, and representatives from the embassies of the United States, Hungary, and Armenia. Alexander Tsuladze, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia, and other officials, including Tariel Gugava, Gela Geladze, and Tamar Makharashvili, were also present.
For the 2024-2025 academic year, the International Center for Education announced 12 grant/scholarship programs aimed at promoting education abroad. As a result of the competitions held for undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and qualification programs, 176 Georgian citizens were awarded scholarships. The annual budget for these state training grants exceeds 5.5 million GEL.
Since its establishment in 2014, the International Center for Education has provided opportunities for Georgian citizens to study at leading universities worldwide. The government funds master’s and doctoral programs and supports the qualification of citizens employed in public service abroad through relevant research and professional institutions.
From 2014 to 2024, more than 1,250 Georgian citizens have benefited from funding through the International Center for Education, with a total budget exceeding 47 million GEL.
