Following amendments to the Law of Georgia "On Vocational Education," the Minister of Education, Science, and Youth Affairs of Georgia has approved the rules and conditions for distance learning in vocational education.
The new regulations define both synchronous and asynchronous forms of distance learning. They also specify how program components are to be determined according to professional educational standards, allowing for remote teaching and evaluation.
Additionally, a list of professional training and retraining programs that are not based on professional educational standards and can be conducted entirely online has been approved.
This development enables colleges and vocational training providers for the first time to offer components of vocational programs remotely, and in some instances, to deliver entire vocational training programs online.
