Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and Chief Ambassador of Culture and Communication Division of the Federal Foreign Office of Germany, Vernen Vnendt opened Tbilisi German International School.
Tbilisi German International School presents the school of intercultural negotiations. German teachers teach in German language according to the curriculum of Thuringen and Georgian teachers give classes in Georgian language in Georgian Language and Literature and history according to the National curriculum. In parallel with German language, the schoolchildren will be given English language classes from the first form. Other languages will be included in the schedule in the higher forms (Russian or French), that will enable the schoolchildren to get ready for the future challenges of the globalized world.
Graduates of this school will be awarded with the internationally recognized diploma. The schoolchildren will have opportunity to continue studying in the countries of Europe as well as Northern America and other countries of the world.
Part of the schoolchildren of Tbilisi German International School live in Georgian-German families and are being brought up in bilingual environment. Parts of them are children of the part-time employees of German organizations in Georgia. Georgian schoolchildren who have no liaison with Germany, study in this school as well. Their choice was defined according to the authority of German education system.
At the initial level, the school principal Andre Betz and his team will work with the support of Zigfrid Meschede. He was the principal of German school in India and China for many years. Kindergarten and the preparing group as well as the first form function in this school.
