World celebrates the day of science on November 10. In the scope of this day, famous Georgian scientists visited the schools that are provided with the labs in natural sciences in the frame of the program “Einstein”. The program is initiated by MES. Scientists conducted experiments and research together with the schoolchildren and held various practical works.
On the same day, Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini provided the Public School №23 with the new lab in the scope of the program “Einstein”. Young biologist Eka Bakuradze gave a practical lesson to the schoolchildren in the newly refurbished lab.
In order to make science more popular among the schoolchildren, MES holds number of activities and refurbishes the school labs successfully. Modern tools and technique represent additional possibilities for the schoolchildren to learn exact and natural sciences better. Adults conduct experiments, research and hold other practical works. Teachers intensively use the virtual labs during the teaching process.
In order to attract adults’ interest in the scientific career, organizing popular lectures of the famous scientists, funding of the researches through active involvement of the schoolchildren, scientists and teachers, according to the competition, preparing popular scientific films and publications are planned in different regional schools of Georgia.
MES will support accessibility of information on the modern scientific achievements through the implementation of these activities, particularly in the regions. MES will encourage involvement of the schoolchildren as well as the teachers in the researches and development of the research skills among the students. In order to achieve all these aims, labs in biology, chemistry and physics will be refurbished step by step in all public schools in the scope of the program “Einstein” by the end of 2010-2011 academic years.
