Teachers’ Trainings Through the Oxford Programs are Underway
Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini got familiarized with the training of English language teachers, organized by the National Centre for Teacher Professional Development of MES and English Book Georgia. Teachers of Tbilisi, Mtskheta and Rustavi Public Schools participate in it. Trainings are held by the Head of English Language Teaching Course of Oxford Teachers’ Academy, Teresa Doguelli.
Training is designed to support teachers’ professional development and introduce modern foreign language teaching methodologies. Particular attention is drawn on grammar teaching methods and development of the reading skills. Trained teachers will be presented with the textbooks and methodic materials, published by the Oxford Academy. After finishing the workshops, all participants will be awarded with the relevant certificates.
Similar trainings will be held permanently. National Center for Teacher Professional Development plan to train around 600 teachers in the current year.
