Maghlaki Public School #1 was established in 1934. During 75 years the building has not been fully renovated. In January 2009, strong storm devastated the roof and damaged walls.  Due to the accident, it was impossible to continue an academic process at the school. Thus, the need for launching rehabilitation work was put at stake.

As a result of rehabilitation, at Maghlaki Public School #1 that has more than 200 students, a new well- equipped gym and computer lab were opened. The floor was totally refurbished, the heating system was installed with the funds of 40 000 GEL allotted from the budget of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. The entire rehabilitation of the school cost GEL 300 00 and was provided from the regional development fund.
