Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Irine Kurdadze awarded 25 authors of the best electronic educational resources. Teachers took part in the training program “IT in the Education Process” organized by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development of MES. During the trainings, teachers created ICT based lesson plans and education projects and received the best assessments.
Winning teachers will participate in the project “Electronic Education Games” initiated by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development and receive additional salary. In the scope of the similar projects, teachers already created educational games in the different subject matter groups in 2010. Author of the best two projects will leave for Denmark, in March 9-13, in order to attend 25th international conference of the European School Network.
Educational computer programs enable teachers to enrich the lessons. Therefore, particular attention is drawn on the involvement of ICT in the education process and MES intensively works in this direction. 5,710 teachers passed trainings in the basis of ICT and Level 2. Materials created by them are posted on the storage of the electronic educational materials www.lemill.net and personal blogs. Additionally, it is planned to train 12,000 teachers and 700 IT managers in 2011.
