Minister of Education and Science Dimitri Shashkini, Rector of Ilia University Gigi Tevzadze and the representatives of Earth Sciences Institute attended a testing of the apparatus for complex researches of Sea and Lake.
The equipment was purchased by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Apparatus was tested at the Territory of Turtle Lake. The apparatus is unique as it can examine the situation in the depth from the surface of the water.
The apparatus has the combined system; it can be used for geophysical, geological and ecological researches. The earth crust as well as lakes, seas and water reservoirs can be examined with this apparatus. Students and researchers of Ilia University will participate in these researches.
To develop infrastructure for scientific researchers at higher education institutions in compliance with modern standards is one of the top priorities for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation will continue to finance and support the implementation of scientific researches in the future.
