In the scope of celebration of Georgian Language Day, the First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze held the meeting with the members of the National Academy of Science and the Institute of Linguistics, representatives of the universities and scientists. The Deputy Minister introduced to them the initiative of the President of Georgia on creating the special Georgian language intensive learning program for non native speakers.
Koka Sepherteladze discussed the initiative with the invited guests. The guests gave their remarks on the standard of Georgian as a Foreign Language.
The standard was created by the representatives of the Ministry and experts of the field. The standard has already been discussed by the members of special committee and the Public Board. Their remarks will be put in the final version of the standard.
The standard of Georgian as a foreign language is designed for teachers, methodologists, educational program and textbook authors, educational literature publishers and editors as well as for self learners and for the people who are involved in teaching/learning process of Georgian as a foreign language.
