Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini and General Director of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation under the Ministry Sulkhan Sisauri awarded the winners of “the Leonardo Da Vinci “Contest.
Grand prix was granted to Komarov Physical Mathematical schoolchildren David Buliskiria and Levan Gabisonia for the project “Robot Sunflower”. They will take up a 4 week study tour in England.
The authors of the best projects were selected in two age categories: X-XII and VII-IX graders. The winners were awarded with cash prizes:

Top place schools have been also awarded with the smart boards.
Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia granted all authors of the projects with the diplomas.
Company “Beeline” presented the authors of their favorite projects with the mobile phones. Beeline” also conferred the USB modem to the author of the Project” Barnaba”. “Vissol Georgia Petroleum” selected the author of the project “Electronic Dictionary of Physics” to take a month long internship at their company. Journal “Junior” granted a permit of free subscription to 10 authors of the innovative projects. Publishing House “Logos Press” awarded the scientific literature to 19 participants.
“The Leonardo Da Vinci” Contest was administered by Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation under the Ministry. The main goals of the competition were to enhance the knowledge of the schoolchildren, support developing a creative thinking, get them interested in technical innovations and progress and reveal the schoolchildren inventors.
The exhibition lasted for two days and will be closed today.
