500 resource officers planted cypress and cedars in Khudadovi Forest in the scope of the campaign “Plant a Tree, Make Tbilisi Green”. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini also took part in the campaign together with the Resource Officers.

According to Dimitri Shashkini, participation of the Resource Officers in similar activities is very important since they care to ensure a healthy environment.

Campaign” Plant a Tree, Make Tbilisi Green” is being held with the blessing of His Holiness and Beatitude Catholicos Patriarch of all Georgia, Ilia II with the support of Ecology and Greenery Department of Tbilisi City Hall.

Resource Officers’ duty is to prevent conflicts and provide the schoolchildren with any kind of aid. They are not allowed to punish the schoolchildren. The Resource officers are responsible to ensure the safety of schoolchildren, teachers and school staff. A new initiative that is being implemented in the frame of the Safe School program envisages giving parents a full guarantee of their children’s safety.
