The First Wave of Certification Exams for Current Teachers Started
Certification exams for teachers will be held for the first time in Georgia. The certification process will give teachers an opportunity to reveal a high competence of their professional knowledge in their respective subjects and prove that they are aware of the modern teaching and learning methods.
This year, certification exams will be held for those teachers of the Georgian Language and Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Languages who have at least 1 year of teaching experience. Any person who is not currently employed as a teacher but has worked as a teacher in the educational institution at some point of his/her career is also eligible for taking the certification exam.
From now on, only certified teachers will be employed as trainers and mentors at schools. The certified teachers will also have a higher salary.
The registration for the certification exams will begin from February 4 and will last to March 31. Taking the certification exams is voluntary and fully financed by the government of Georgian.
