National Center of Manuscripts with support of Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, organizes a charity concert of the famous Pianist Eliso Bolkvadze on August 6 in the city of Batumi. Minister Dimitri Shashkini personally met Ms. Eliso Bolkvadze on this occasion before the concert.
The revenue raised for the concert will be fully transferred to the account of the National Center of Manuscripts Friends’ Society and will be used to save restoration of the ancient manuscripts. Among them is Mokvi Gospel, rewritten in 1300 in Abkhazia by the order of bishop of Mokvi – Daniel. In the course of time the unique manuscript suffered severe damages. The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia allocated 1 million GEL to save the unique manuscripts.
An exhibition “Georgia Manuscripts” will be held before the charity concert and will feature collections of copies of unique manuscripts preserved at National Center of Manuscripts.
National Center of Manuscripts Friends’ Society was created to save these unique collections- treasure of Georgian culture and history. Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia is one of the members of this society. Ms. Eliso Bolkvadze also joined this membership.
Together with Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, company “Airzena”, Radio” Muza” and Adjara TV are supporters of the charity concert.
