Shota Rustaveli National Scientific Foundation under the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia will finance the scientific research of material and spiritual heritage of Georgia abroad.

First Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Koka Sepherteladze and General Director of Shota Rustaveli National Scientific Foundation Sulkhan Sisauri held a briefing for the press at St. Ekvtime Takaishvili museum on financing the scientific researches.

The Foundation will finance those projects that envisage the research of Georgian historical and cultural heritage abroad. Grant contest is aimed to raise young scientists’ interest in research of intellectual and material heritage of Georgia.

Any group of researchers that represent authorized higher education institutions or Orthodox Church of Georgia can participate in the contest. The deadline for receiving applications is September 12.

Duration of the research is 3 years. Sum of money allocated for the research from the Foundation should not exceed 300 000 GEL. The research can also be co-financed by foreign scientific foundations and donors.

As General Director of Shota Rustaveli National Scientific Foundation Sulkhan Sisauri stated, the contest will support the popularization of Georgian cultural and spiritual heritage.
