The development of the instruction of Exact and Natural Sciences is one of the priorities of Georgia's educational reforms. To acheive this end, the teaching of technical subjects is very intensive in nationl schools. To encourage higher-quality instruction, schools and higher educational institutions are being equipped with training-research labs. The Chairman of the Parliament, Davit Bakradze, and the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Nodar Surguladze, opened a renovated physics training lab at the Georgia Technical University.

The training-research lab is equipped with modern computer equipment and devices. The lab provides opportunities for planning and executing scientific-research activities in various fields of applied physics and the conduction of magisterial and doctoral-level scientific researches.

The modern equipment of this new physics lab enables students to conduct nearly 80 laboratory works in the fields of Mechanics, Molecular Physics, Electronics, Optics and Electronic Physics and Atomic Physics.

Every student can conduct training-research work at the lab, as a well as simple experiments in physics, which should also be of interest for school teachers. The opening of a Sunday school is being planned for this purpose. The lab can be used to satisfy the needs of public school physics teachers, to enhance their qualification pursuant to modern standards.
