Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini met the representatives of professional education institutions and introduced ten-section action-plan of the Government to them. Minister spoke about the reforms undertaken in the education system; he also covered current projects and talked about future plans.

From the year 2012, the system of financing of Professional Education Institutions will change. Existing system will be replaced with voucher funding system. This will contribute to development of professional education in Georgia.

Action-plan for the years 2011-2015 of the Government of Georgia encompasses the education field. Special attention is paid to the development of professional education that is oriented on the requirements of the labor market.

Support and development of Professional education is one of the priorities for the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia. Professional education institutions have been reconstructed and fully equipped in accordance to modern standards. New programs have been launched. Professional education teachers’ standard has been developed.

With the initiative of the Ministry, in order to provide all necessary information to the interested people, Professional Education Information Centers have been created throughout Georgia.
