Physical education teachers will pass the exams
The respective exam program will be
developed for the teachers of Physical education. The special committee was set
up in the Ministry to discuss this issue. The Minister of Education and Science
of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini and the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs,
Lado Vardzelashvili met the members of this committee to review the criteria of
the exam program for the discipline of physical education.
The representatives of the sports federations and experts of physical education will work together with the respective staff of the Ministry of Education and Science to develop the exam program.
Separate committees will be also created to elaborate exam programs for the teachers of music, fine and applied art.
Last year, teachers of physical education, music, fine and applied art passed the exams in professional skills only, next year, they will also take a subject test.
The National Center for Teacher Professional Development under the Ministry will retrain the teachers of physical education in respective subject and provide necessary assistance with regard to certification exam. Upon a successful performance in the exams, the teachers of physical education, music, fine and applied art will get a salary increase.
