The President opened a newly constructed school
The President of Georgia, Mikheil Saakashvili and the Minister of Education and Science of Georgia, Dimitri Shashkini opened a newly constructed school in the village of Nokalakevi. Up to 300 schoolchildren will be able to study in the new school which is supplied with the up-to-date inventories and fully meets the modern construction standards.
The “Einstein” Natural Science labs and IT cabinet are functioning in the school; the school has a sports pitch and is fully adapted to the requirements of children with special educational needs.
The new school also has a dining facility; library, the room for the resource officers and modern heating equipments.
There are 200 schoolchildren and 27 teachers in the school; two of them are certified teachers. Native English volunteer teacher also co- teaches at the institution as a part of the educational program” Teach and Learn with Georgia”; the graduates of this school are successfully passing the national unified exams; the school teachers and schoolchildren actively participate in the projects and programs initiated by the Ministry.
As a part of his visit to the school, the President got acquainted with the new educational program - Skool Georgia- which is one more tool of receiving the education. The project is a joint venture of the Ministry and Intel Company and offers the users educational resources in Natural Sciences and Math at all levels of general education.
In the scope of the event, the President presented the two successful schoolchildren with the portable computers.
