Ministry is developing long-term strategy
The Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia has started developing a long-term working plan for the next 5 years. Minister of Education and Science of Georgia Dimitri Shashkini held a working meeting with the members of the working plan committee, during which some important questions on higher and
professional education were discussed:
- International Baccalaureate programs will start in Georgia;
- From 2015, students will have to obtain B1 and B2 levels in English language in order to receive diplomas;
- A new credit calculation system will be developed for higher educational programs;
- Higher education institutions will start actively recruiting foreign lecturers;
- Educational Institutions authorization process;
- Successful sportsmen will be enrolled to higher education institutions;
- Opportunity of establishing professional education colleges on the basis of higher education institutions;
- Improvements of the high school and unified national exams.
In order to develop such a long-term strategic plan, this special committee has been created s part of the Ministry. Representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia, Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Georgia, and Public School Principals comprise the members of the committee.
